DIY and Save
The transformative influence of AI-powered robotics on our work and lifestyle is undeniable. What was once a mere concept has swiftly evolved into tangible reality, reshaping the very fabric of our existence.
In my humble opinion, the concept of “home” will undergo a profound shift, becoming not just a living space but a dynamic nexus where work and life converge seamlessly. Embracing the idea of multi-generational living seems not just prudent but visionary. I aspire to craft a home that not only meets our present needs but anticipates and accommodates the demands of the future.
- I plan to build a mixed-use home to avoid helping my rich bank and landlord become richer.
- I want to have a sustainable lifestyle, generating energy and growing food.

I Frequently Asked Myself
How Can I Get Rid of Mortgages and Rents. While thinking about it, a few questions came to my mind.
Why do I have to rent for my workspaces?
I been paying rent for my business over two decades paying more than $1.5 million. Since it is in retail shopping center, I had to rent separate office for the office function of my business and paid another $1 million. I should own the freaking building with that kind of money, but I don’t.
I don’t want to talk about monopolized real estate development system, since nothing will change by talking about it.
Instead, I thought to overcome all the red tapes and build my mixed-use building myself to get out of the trap. First floor of my house will be the place of my business and the second floor will be my house.
Why the home layout doesn't change?
The way of life had changed significantly. We no longer watch TV together in the family room or receive guests in the living room. We eat most of our meals at our kitchen dining table and rarely use the dining room. But the house layout isn’t changing. Matter of fact, it stayed in the 16th century.
I don’t want to ask why anymore. Instead, I will design it myself to fit today’s lifestyle.
I plan to build my new house as a mini-hotel where each person has more privacy and individuality rather than continue faking my family does everything together. We are a 21st-century family, living and working in the 21st-centry.
Why did we stop building our own house?
We used to build houses ourselves not too long ago. We used to hire the neighborhood carpenters, roofers, and people to build it. Ever since Sears began printing out the homes, the building code became more complicated and strict to protect the homeowners. Now the home inspectors act like God and homeowners have to suck up to them as if they are giving us a free house. I hate that s%@#.
Since the system is so bad that more people are searching for an inspection-free, permit-free area to build their off-grid homes. It’s sad. At least, more young people are building their homes in DIY style and sharing the knowledge they gained during the process. This old dog will follow what our youngsters are doing and build my own house.
I am going to do the same and share what I learned during the process.
Why do we build house with sticks?
We watch the stick frame houses blown away so easily by hurricanes, tornatos, and flooding. But we go straight back to the stick frame building techniques. I wonder why.
Why not changing to sturdier concrete based building techniques such as ICF or ICCF?
The ICF or ICCF building technique is so easy that anyone without the experience can build. It’s disaster proof, fireproof, and time saving methods.
I am beginning to think the contractors don’t want to see these trends to spread.
I plan to use ICCF (Insulated Composite Concrete Forms) for my house since it is firesafe and uses less concrete. And I plan to build it myself.
Why can't I not drill a well for my water?
During my childhood outside of the USA, I remember drinking water from our house well without ever subjecting it to testing, yet my family and I enjoyed good health. This makes me question why there’s such an emphasis on water contaminants. Is it a tactic to dissuade us from drinking our own water and push us towards relying solely on city water?
I’m convinced that’s not the case. City water and sewer treatment are undoubtedly crucial and well-executed. However, I believe there should be more freedom for individuals to drill their own wells. That’s the crux of my perspective.
Can I be energy independent?
I strongly believe in the potential of solar energy generation and am enthusiastic about incorporating this technology to generate a significant portion of my own electricity. To enhance the effectiveness of solar energy at home, I believe there should be a parallel focus on advancing energy storage systems. In particular, I am of the opinion that developing sophisticated battery systems for residential use should be a priority, even more so than for vehicles.
I am closely following the advancements made by companies like Tesla and LG Energy Solutions, and my expectations are high for the positive contributions they can make in this field.
