We used to build our own houses in the past. When more hands are needed, neighbors came and shared their labors. The carpenters didn’t over charged us because there are many other carpenters to compete with. But now we shop our houses in the similar manor as buying a car.
Building permit requirements and inspection process took away our basic rights to even build our own houses.
Despite all discouragements, I like to build my own house as our parents did in the past.
